Hello everyone!

glad that I found this website to consult with you guys my problem, anyways…

I am from Spanish origin my grandmother father’s side was Spanish ,my problem is that my uncle was trying to register her birth and her death in the embassy in Lebanon ,and there is one mean person that is not allowing so,so is there any other way we can send the registrations to Spain with a lawyer ,or only she can be registered in her birth place ,that is Beirut ..anyways please tell me if we can register her in a different way ,I have read some where on the net that we have to talk to the head judge of the registro civil in maho…because she is from Balearic islands ,by the way my uncle searched all the registro civil the central and the one in the balearic islands but there was nothing found ,so thats why we want to register her death and birth in a different way not from the place she was born at ,by the way she never went to spain but her parents did.

if there is something else you guys need to know please do ask me
that why you can help me better.

Regards,

Carla

carlasader,
let me see,
you say your grandmother was born in the balearic islands.
was she a spanish citizen when she was born?
did she carry a spanish passport?
how did she end up in lebanon?

no her parents were registered in the balearic islands all her family ,she never got the lebanese nationality ...her registry was lost in the war there are only few records left of her family in lebanon, they spanish citizens living in lebanon all there lives ,but never became lebanese ,they all had residency permit never became lebanese ,so what could be done ...by the way she was born in lebanon to spanish parents ..never went to spain ...what i mean is all the families records are in balearic islands specifically in mahon but there was not record found for her because all the registry was burnt in war ...so we are trying to register her again through the embassy in lebanon but there is one person there that is not allowing the process o could be register her from somewhere else ,another country for example saudi arabia because at the moment i live here specifically in Jeddah and there is a spanish consulate but dont know if it deals with the citizenship matter but thats not the case.

anyways could be register her from a different country?

carlasader,
if your grandmother was a spanish citizen born in lebanon carrying lebanese residency permit, she should have had spanish passports. do you have the old and the latest one? how did she travel outside lebanon?
if your grandmother carried a spanish passport her parents should have registered her birth in the spanish consulate and a copy of her birth certificate should be in the registro central in madrid.
in the birth certificate of your father, is your grandmother’s nationality spanish?

carlasader,
you said your grandmother was born in lebanon. does she have a lebanes birth certificate?
if you can find this certificate, what is her nationality in this birth certificate?
if she was just a resident in lebanon, do you have her residence permit in lebanon? what is her nationality in this residence permit?
what kind of identification document did she carry in lebanon?
spaniards born outside spain can ONLY be registered in the consulate and the consulate sends a copy in the registro central in madrid.
so i would like to know if her parents registered her there.
please answer the questions so i can give more information.

carlasader,
spaniards born abroad are registered by there parents at the consulate of the country of birth.
the parents submit the birth certificate issued by the country to the consulate.
the consulate makes a copy and sends it to registro civil central in madrid.

you have not answer my previous questions, now i have another question.
you want to register your grandmother in the spanish consulate in beirut, what documents are you giving the consulate to prove she was a spaniard?
