Hi. I’ve been living in Spain since April 2008. I registered with our local town hall on arrival (empadronamiento) but didn’t register as ‘resident’ until March 2009. I am not working in Spain.
My husband (expat also) is also living in Spain since April 2008 and has been working and registered for tax purposes throughout.
We are expecting twins at Christmas and am wondering if I qualify for the ‘cheque bebe’? Does the empadronamiento count as residency or do they take into consideration the husbands status?
