i have a child who?s going 8 yrs old and is on her way here to spain to become a resident. what makes me confuse now is that, a lot of people include my lawyer said… once my daughter will have her residency here, she can just stay 3 mos, in the philippines. what if i want her to pursue her studies in the philippines? is it not possible for her to do it? another thing.. how true is it… that it is possible for her to study in the philippines but she have to appear every 3 mos. in the spanish embassy in the philippines.

please… can somebody help me with this.

eneri,
i think you want your child to have the residency so he or she can come back to spain and work.
if a resident stays out of spain for 6 months the residency expires.
you will have to apply again for it and its gets harder and harder unless you are a spanish citizen.
so the best thing would be to let your child stay here until he/she gets spanish citizenship, (passport and dni) so he or she can come back to spain anytime. apply also for his or her dual filipino spanish citizenship to avoid problems from staying too long in the philippines and being required to pay extra fees in school and immigration.
but i would suggest that you send him/her to school here to have a better chance of getting a better job in spain/europe because many immigrant filipinos who have university studies in the philippines work here in low paying jobs (i think you know what i mean) because of language barrier.
