Hello,
I landed on this forum a couple of days ago and I must say it was a real stroke of luck! I have already found so much info and useful links! Thank you all for that!
I am planning to spend some part of my maternity leave somewhere in Andalucia possibly Las Alpujarras and currently trying to find out as much as possible about living in this part of Spain in winter as the plan is to go there in September and stay a couple of months with my partner, a toddler and a 4months old baby. An idea to have sme family time together I guess. We would like to rent a small cottage for up to 6 months in a nice area - nothing ‘touristy’ but somewhere not too far from the hospital. We will have a car and hopefully will speak basic Spanish by then.
The risky part of it is the finances as we will not have much money but I believe with a bit of luck we should be alright. I mean I am sure we would be alright traveling on budget just us 2, pretty sure with a toddler, the weakest link 😉 is a baby so I am looking for info what to consider, how to find cheap but safe winter accommodation, live on budget in Spain etc. (any advice is very welcome 😊 )
That’s it I think 😊
Oh and no we are not that crazy- yes, we are going to come for a week in February to check what it is really like to be there in winter 😊
