I’ve been living in Spain for four years as a student, but I graduated last December and my student loan repayments will start in June; after several months of searching I can’t find a job.  I finally decided that it is time to face reality and go back to the USA, at least to work a bit and get some experience before trying to make it back to Spain to live again.  The problem is, I don’t even have enough money for a plane ticket back.  (I would be going back to my parents’ city of Austin, TX, which is always a pain to get to.)  I teach english but it barely covers my basic food, abono transportes, and rent.  My parents don’t have money to send me.  I’m sure that if I made it back to the US I’d manage to find some sort of job, but at the moment I’m broke, getting more broke, and stuck here in Spain!  I’m starting to get nervous—I have to start repaying my loans in June and I’m trapped here in Spain (trapped perhaps is the wrong word for this wonderful country, but there you are).  I can’t even apply for unemployment as I’ve never been employed above the table.  Is it possible to get deported on Spain’s dime?
