Hello everybody,

This website has a lot of useful things for foreigners. Well, here is my situation. I have an asian passort. I came to Barcelona on September 2010 with tourist visa for 2 weeks. Then, I decided to stay in Spain without any legally permission. Cause I have not had any information about NIE or whatever.

During the time, I have studied Spainish but the lenght of the course did not allowed me to get a legally situation in Spain. Now, I would like to take Spanish and Catanl?n course in Barcelona University (Language for Foreigner Department) then I will enter to UB to get BA degree.

I have know that to get Visa Permits and NIE, thay require to have effectively entering visa when you get into Spain with offical stamp. My concernment is It is possible to get Student Permits and NIE with my situation (expired tourist visa).

Pleaseeeeeeeee, has someone had any advice for me? I thank you so much for reading this.

  Best regards,

No way, you entered illegally and it is then difficult, if not impossible to legalise your situation.  You need a visa, work permit or students permit, available if you have been offered a place at the university or work in Spain. Ask the Uni what they need for you to apply for a place. Go to an immigrants centre in Barcelona, I’m sure they could give you some advice and steps to take on legalising your station. Not easy I think.
