Hi there,
The information on this forum is fantastic! Thanks for all the great insight! I am hoping someone can help me with a few questions regarding obtaining a residency visa.
1. I am recently self employed, have money from a rental property and some residual unemployment income I am still making from a job I lost at the beginning of the year. I have approximately $120,000 saved (approximately half of which is in retirement accounts). It appears that applying for a visa as someone who is “self employed” is a crazy amount of paperwork and I would just like to try and get a residency visa based on my savings and other (not totally consistent) income. Does anyone have any experience in how much savings they look for or the types of income they approve as satisfactory for residency?
2. Does anyone have experience working with an immigration lawyer? Are they worth the expense? If so, if you have any recommendations on who to use it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks again for all of the great information!
Cheers!
