Well first, depending on your location in Spain, you will need a very big dish.
This is to be able to receive the free to air version of Channel 5.
However, even on 3.1m dishes where I am this free to air version will ont be available past 6pm!
It is on the same frequency as BBC2 England.
If you want ot add it to your sky box then
Services, 4, 4,
input frequency 10773 h 22 5/
and add it to your “services other channels” listing.
This is where a Sky card come into play.
The sky card versions of Five can be received over most of Spain on a 60cm dish!
This is because the free to air non card versions are on the weakest Astra 2d frequency whoich is hard to get here in Spain even on big dishes, yet the sky card version is on a “south beam” and is eay to receive over most of spain on a 60cm dish - heck I can even get this on a skyminidish here!
You may be allocated the “weak” Five on 105. If so then you add the “sky card” vesions to your other channels.
Services, 4, 4, input frequency 12422 h 27.5 2/3, and add Five to your serivies other channels list.
Or if you have a Sky HD box and a Sky card, then just use Five HD, on sky 171
Normally freesatfromsky card can be get from sky for ?25. This is a one off payament. The card will be ssent to the UK address and will need to be activated. Preactivated ones that are ready to got, can be bought (from 50-100euros) from dealers in Spain.
Tot he OP. If you bought two faulty cards from ebay then all you do is contact the seller and get replacements.
A good seller will always make sure the goods are working or supply a replacement. ALso, cards do fail, even subscription ones direct from Sky, and they need replacing.
