I have a question with regard to my Master of Architecture Professional degree that I was awarded in the United States, year 2007.

I am presently a Spanish and U.S citizen living in the United States. In the year 2007 I was awarded a Master of Architecture professional degree from a fully accredited and NCARB approved University. At this time I do not have a license to practice architecture in the United States. However, in the future I am planning to move to Spain and am wondering if:

1. My University degree, Master of Architecture will be accepted or recognized in Spain?
2. If so, will I then be able to register with the Colleges of Architects to practice architecture in Spain?
3. Are there any exam requirements to practice architecture in Spain?

Thank you for any help or advice you can offer me.

Sincerely,

lorenzo1,
you will need to get true copies of your transcript of records and bs and ba and ma diplomas. have them apostilled. ask the consulate if they can offially translate them into spanish.
when you get your dni, you will apply for the accreditation of your degree by the ministry of education in madrid.
submit all your university records. they will inform you after (i do not know how long ) if your degree is equivalent to the spanish degree or if you have to take some kind of exam.
if you change address, do not forget to inform them of your present one, since the decision is sent by mail.
once you have the accreditation you will be able to join the colegio de arquitectos o arquitectos t?cnicos and practice your profession.
get information about being self employed and/or an employee as far as “hacienda” and “seguridad social” is concerned.

DNI has to be obtained directly in Spain at the police offices. Maybe you can get a passport in your consulate.
