Hi

We're planning on touring the south east coast of Spain in our motorhome this winter. Any suggestions of nice places to visit and nice but to not too expenive campsites to stay at would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance :-)

I 'think' most campsites close in the winter (unless they are a year round trailer park type place? - Eg Cabopino near Marbella is one such place.)

I know there is a Green? book listing all the campsites in Spain (sort of like the UK Caravan and Camping club handbook), that you can purchase from any large bookstore here.

If you do not need to stay on official sites, I know there is a big community in the winter of motorhome owners that camp out in some beautiful spots. (Not sure how legal they are, but know they have been in existence year on year.) Eg Costa Blanca around
Las Salinas area (or very nearby) there was one such camp.
I have the idea they stay for x no of months in one spot, then move en-mass to the next spot.

Perhaps google and see if there is any info on above?
(Portugal has similar spots too I am told :)

Tarifa comes to mind, there are not only a couple of all year round campsites, there is also at least one parking space at the beach front where people park their caravans for free from what I can see (they may go and come back every couple of weeks to get away with it). The town is pretty enough also and has a good nightlife, as well as some deserted beaches not so far from there, like one called Bolona, there are ferries to Morocco too, cool place overall. Just be careful should you camp in the dunes. The cops have been known to go around there looking for campers, though most people get away with it.
