hi,
Santa Fe official website…
http://www.santafe.es/
These days Santa Fe is pretty much one of the dormitory towns and villages surrounding Granada. It is however a thriving community in its own right. We live about 20 minutes away by car.
Commutable…most certainly by bus and cheap too. Journey time by bus is claimed to be 10 minutes but is highly dependent on the time of day. (Nearest rail station is Granada). (Longhaul coach services available to all parts of Spain from Granada).
Unless you are a masochist avoid driving in Granada; much of the centre is pedestrianised, many roads are for buses taxis and motorcycles only, many others are one way streets; just to add to the traffic chaos, a new tramway is being built and this has involved a lot of road closures.
Local Bus routes and timetables…
http://www.ctagr.com/consorciotransportes/operadorestransporte/horarios.php
Routes 140, 152, 240, 241, 242, 340 and 345 apply.
Click on route number to display timetables. All commuter routes are pay the driver routes Prepaid Season tickets also available.
Accommodation would be cheaper in Santa Fe than in Granada City but if you want the night life then Granada City would be better. Taxis are expensive outside the city limit.
