Several scams have been unearthed over the years by the Guardia Civil and National Police to take care of ?cowboys? who are preying on unsuspecting foreigners. This website is mainly to warn you to take care:

1- beware of companies not posting their full address on their websites or their advertising. Also beware of ?friends? giving you information on companies - are they on commission?

2- beware of companies not posting their VAT number (CIF in Spanish). A bad sign is also that they only publish on a free site, and use a free email address like hotmail, gmail, terra etc.

3- beware of companies not presenting the certificate (necessary in Spain) that the company is fully registered, and is registered for taxes, social security AND for installing antennas

4- beware of companies that only give our a mobile number (they start with 6 in Spain) and are unwilling to give our their landline (starting with 9 or 8 in Spain).

5- ask that the installer has an insurance policy in his name - and ask for a copy.

6.- never part with your money unless you are fully satisfied. Beware of companies always offering new deals, special deals, special discounts etc - if a deal seems to be too good to be true, it usually is. Did the satellite dishes fall from the proverbial lorry? Or are they without real warranty?

If in doubt, email me. I will be more than glad to help you.
